World renowned soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo, is widely accepted to be one of the best soccer players in history. With a whopping total of 816 goals under his belt, such a feat has earned him the official title of the highest overall men’s international goalscorer in history. For decades, this near forty year old still dominantes and terrorizes the soccer scene, however just recently has this powerhouse set his sights on a brand new goal: YouTube domination!
That’s right, Cristiano Ronaldo has not only launched his own channel, but also aims to become the most subscribed channel in the entire platform– however is such a feat possible? At the time of this writing, the most subscribed YouTube channel is Mr. Beast with an unimaginable 313 million subscribers. To put that ridiculous amount in perspective, that’s roughly 1/24 of the entire human population all collectively following one singular account. Jimmy Donaldson, the creator of Mr. Beast, amasses hundreds of millions of views by developing content with high stakes and even bigger prizes in order to create entertaining and addicting content. Cristiano Ronaldo may be incredibly talented and famous, but how could he ever compete with such a massive corporation?
Some statistics could prove hopeful for the soccer champion. With the official announcement and launch of his YouTube channel on August 21st of this year, Cristiano Ronaldo broke yet another world record by becoming the fastest-growing channel in the platform’s history by obtaining over a million subscribers within 90 minutes or less. At the time of this writing, the superstar has already received over 57.2 million subs within less than a month’s time. Never has such incredible growth been seen in YouTube’s history towards this scale, all the while obtaining millions upon millions of views with each new video released, I cannot fathom just how large his channel will become within a year. In fact, Cristiano Ronaldo himself challenged Mr. Beast, stating that he’d like to try to beat him within the span of two years.
Ronaldo is undoubtedly incredible in both soccer and his rising YouTube career, but he still has a long way to go before he reaches the heights of Mr. Beast. His growth is impressive, however momentum can eventually slow down, and there’s a potential chance of Ronaldo’s rapid following to decrease with each passing month. Still, such a claim could be possible, but only time will tell what awaits this surprisingly new rivalry.
