St. Patrick’s Day in the Valley

Saint Patrick’s Day is here in the Roanoke Valley with events throughout the area. Last weekend, the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Shamrock Festival took place in downtown Roanoke, attracting thousands of people from all over the state. In 2016, the festivities were ranked by Bustle as the eighth biggest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the United States, and they have only grown since then.
The day began with a parade, followed by live music, food, drinks, and vendors throughout the streets. Local bars Corned Beef & Co and Martin’s Downtown both held their own holiday celebrations, which were attended by families, Roanoke residents, and students alike.
If you missed the parade and festival last Saturday, don’t worry! There are several upcoming St. Patrick’s Day events throughout the valley. Several local breweries will be hosting all-day events on the 17th. Living Proof Beer Company, Olde Salem Brewing Company, and Big Lick Brewing Company will all be hosting their own celebrations with live music, food, and drinks for those over 21.
After the holiday, the festivities do not stop! Beliveau Farm Winery is hosting a St. Patty’s Murder Mystery on March 18, and the Hotel Roanoke will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Brunch on March 19.
