Women’s Soccer: Our Lady Maroons had a week full of tough opponents. This past Saturday the ladies fell to the sixth seed in the ODAC, Lynchburg University. On Tuesday night the team faced Bridgewater College. The Maroons held on through overtime, until the undefeated Bridgewater took the win. The ladies are looking to bounce back this Saturday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. as they take on Randolph at home.
Men’s Soccer: The Maroons started their win streak back up this week as the team first defeated Eastern Mennonite University, 1-0 this past Friday. The team kept that momentum up as they obtained a win against Guilford on Tuesday afternoon. The team will travel to Randolph-Macon this Saturday, October 6.
Field Hockey: Our field hockey team had two great wins this week. This past Saturday the ladies battled Randolph-Macon through two overtimes, and ultimately came out on top. On Tuesday the team scored seven goals against Ferrum earning the ladies their fifth win of the season. The team will travel to Virginia Wesleyan this Saturday, October 6.
Volleyball: The volleyball team had a very busy week and obtained three wins (Lynchburg, Eastern Mennonite University, and Randolph). The team fell to Washington and Lee on Monday night in a back-and-forth match that ended with a score of 2-3. Come cheer the ladies on during their match against Southern Virginia on Friday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m.
Men’s Golf: The men’s golf team placed 11th in the Tom Kinder Memorial last Tuesday and Wednesday.The team has a little bit of a rest period until they pick back up on Monday, October 15 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Suffock, Virginia for the VA Intercollegiate match.
Men’s and Women’s Cross Country: Our cross country ran hard this past weekend at Lehigh University for the Paul Short Run. The men placed ninth out of 37 teams while the women placed 33rd out of 43 teams. Both the men and women will travel to Gettysburg, Pa for the Gettysburg Invitational next Saturday, October 13.
