RC Season Openers Recap

Women’s Soccer: Our lady Maroons started the season off with a 1-1 tie against Gettysburg but bounced back to defeat Maryville 2-0. This weekend will be a busy one as the Maroons host the RC Invitational with games on September 8 and September 9, both at 5:30 p.m.

Men’s Soccer: Our men’s soccer team went undefeated as the team hosted the RC Invitational. On September 1, the team defeated Oberlin 1-0 to score their first win and continued the win streak the following day as the Maroons conquered Averett 2-0. The Maroons will be traveling to Lynchburg this weekend for the Lynchburg Invitational.

Field Hockey: On August 31, RC field hockey started off the season with a win against Lancaster Bible, 9-0. The team is looking to keep that momentum as they take on Dension on September 8 at 12 p.m.

Volleyball: After starting the season off with a close match against Guilford where the Maroons could not pull through, the team bounced back to accumulate three perfect wins against William Peace, Averett, and Randolph-Macon. Come out this weekend to cheer the ladies on in the Maroon Classic with games on September 7 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and on September 8 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country: Our cross country teams have yet to compete, but wish them good luck as they travel to West Virginia on September 7 for the Golden Bear Classic.
