The Show Must Go On

Another show at Olin Theater is on the horizon! Sadly, this is the last show for this school year. What is it? “POTUS, or Behind Every Great Dumba$$ Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive” by Selina Fillinger. This hilariously good reminder of what can happen when women who know what they’re doing take a stand. On Roanoke College’s website, the play entails “In the heart of the nation’s capital, a single four-letter word ignites chaos at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. As the President’s inner circle of seven formidable women scrambles to contain the fallout, they’re plunged into a high-stakes struggle where wit, determination, and a touch of rebellion are their only weapons against a personal and political world gone mad.” While I wish children could come to experience another show at Olin, this is NOT for kids.

What’s special about this show, however, is that we have a guest director! Mya Brown! Mya Brown is a member of the Actos Equity Association and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. She also serves as Guiding Faculty for Theatrical Intimacy Education, one of the nation’s leading theatrical intimacy organizations. She has directed at West Virginia Public Theatre and Rochester NY Blackfriars Theatre professionally but has also directed a production of John Proctor is the Villain at Elon University! We recently performed of said show back in September.

Tickets are FREE to all Roanoke College students, faculty, and staff. Otherwise, tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors/students. You can also get tickets by calling the box office at 540-375-2333 or emailing boxoffice@roanoke.edu .

Performances of this show will be Thursday, April 10 through Saturday, April 12 at 7:30pm in Olin Theater, hope to see you there!
