As we finalize our first full month of classes, we get to enjoy our weekend with family and friends. Family Weekend is around the corner. From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th different departments at Roanoke College will provide fun activities to attend! If you have no idea what to go to, let me guide you to some of the things that will be happening that weekend:
- Theater: During family weekend the theater department will be premiering John Proctor is the Villain! A dramatic yet funny take on women’s rights in the age of the #metoo movement. This will be happening on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th at 7:30 pm and Sunday 29th at 2:00 pm in the Olin studio theater. Tickets are free for RC students!
- Reading: The Creative Writing department will be presenting a reading on Saturday 28th from 1 pm to 2:30 pm in the Logan Gallery. This is a great opportunity if you are interested in reading some poems or prose in front of your family (just make sure they are family-friendly). If you want to participate you may contact Dr. Teresa Milbrodt and ask if you can read!
There will be more events that will come up in your email, so make sure to keep an eye on any fun events that you would like your family to participate in. I recommend going to as many as you can to get the full family weekend experience, but the most important part is to spend some time together with the people you love.
