Get Cozy

After the recent bad weather we’ve experienced, we deserve to sit back and relax for a bit, especially when midterms are around the corner! It’s time to bring out the marshmallows and character ceramic cups as we prepare ourselves a nice and cozy hot chocolate.

For this recipe we want something that feels like home while still keeping us awake to study for those big tests coming up. You are going to need two cups of milk, two tablespoons of sugar, two teaspoons of espresso, and half a cup of baker’s chocolate chips! This recipe is for you to share with one friend, but you can go ahead and adjust accordingly for what you need. (Recipe by Mimi on the website “Eats Delightful”)

  1. First, heat up the milk, sugar, and espresso in a pot over medium heat. Make sure to keep stirring until it starts to bubble.
  2. Take the pot off the heat and add your chocolate whisking again until all is well mixed.
  3. Strain the mixture to get rid of any lumps that might have formed.
  4. Serve in your favorite mug and top with the classic mini marshmallows or anything else you prefer. Enjoy!

Hot chocolate on a chilly rainy evening can cure some of the burdens of the day, but not all. After Hurricane Helene created destruction along the U.S. our heart goes out to anyone that has experienced loss during this time. Remember that your health is the first priority. Take some time to breathe, attend a meeting with counseling services, and take advantage of all the support you can find in this community. Finally, take a break once in a while, and enjoy a hot cup of hot chocolate.
