The 93rd Academy Awards are Sunday, April 25th at 8 pm. If you think it’s too late to plan a fun party to celebrate the best in film, you’re wrong! A perfect Oscars get together only requires a few simple steps. Here is your guide!

Ballots

An important part of the Academy Awards is voting! While the winners have already been decided, it’s fun to voice your opinion. You can write what films you like best, or if you want to get competitive- vote who you think will win and tally up who got the most right guesses in the end. Just google “Oscars ballot” and print!

Snacks

If you want to make the party fancy, classy hor d’oeuvres or a charcuterie board are the way to go! Don’t let this intimidate you- these are plenty of easy recipes to follow online. Your menu won’t be complete without dessert. You can’t go wrong with themed cookies or small pieces of a descendant cake.

Drinks

A nice wine or champagne are always a good way to go. However, why not spice things up with Best Picture themed cocktails. What about a “Trial of the Chicago Sidecar” or a “Sound of Mojito.” Get creative with your puns and your bartending skills. Make sure to have a mocktail option for friends staying sober or under 21.

Attire

Going ultra formal for an Oscars party is of course an option. We’ve been cooped up all year and would love an opportunity for dressing up. Another stellar idea is to dress like a character from a Best Picture nominee. Go 60s styles for Trial of the Chicago 7 and Judas and the Black Messiah or rock a colored wig and nursing outfit for Promising Young Woman.

Decor

Gold is the way to go for decor! Create cute invitations to send to your guests, you can do this via email, too! Be sure to get a fun and fancy backsplash to take pictures in front of. You can print movie posters for some of the films. It may be too late to get decorations off of Amazon, but check out your local party supplies store and see what they have.
