Continuing onward the ODAC journey with Men\u2019s Basketball, their win-streak didn\u2019t stop with just Lynchburg. The next opponent was Shenandoah University\u2019s Hornets right here at the Cregger Center on January 18th. During the first quarter of this game, Noke was dominating with an extraordinary lead of 21-9. However, the atmosphere took a sudden big shift during the second quarter, with the Hornets starting to rack up scores at a terrifying speed. Things were starting to get tense as the score turned into a grim 29-27, the Maroons just barely in the lead. But that didn\u2019t phase our team, for Roanoke has an unrivaled sense of determination. The energy was now in the Maroons\u2019 favor, managing to gain back their strong lead and ending the game with a 70-52 lead. Mind you, this is their fifth win in a row, but it didn\u2019t stop there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferrum College was up next, the game held in their hometown on January 22nd. Roanoke was especially terrific at this game, constantly scoring point after point with clean swishes and fancy footwork. In the end, victory was inevitable, the final game closing at 98-66 with the Maroons reaching nearly 100 points. At this point, Roanoke College was listed first place in the ODAC championship. Unfortunately, the most threatening opponent of all was rapidly approaching: Randolph-Macon.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was one of the closest and most intense games in Roanoke Basketball\u2019s history, occurring on January 25th right in Cregger. Some of the most elite players were going toe-to-toe here, both Joshua McClary and Marcus Morgan scoring 17 points each. Tragically, the Yellow-Jackets managed to take the lead and end the game at 78-64, marking Noke Men\u2019s Basketball their first loss of ODAC and breaking their six win-streak. We\u2019re still incredibly proud of our Maroons, and hope to see them continue to gain more wins in the future!<\/span><\/p>\n
