The holidays bring students a\u00a0 chance to connect with family, create lasting memories, and get a break from the workload\u00a0 of the semester. In this article, we take a closer look at some of the diverse ways Roanoke\u00a0 College students approach the holiday season.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In response to, \u201cDo you have any special Christmas traditions?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Morgan Strohl \u201926 said, \u201cMy family is German, so we do this tradition where my parents hide\u00a0 a pickle ornament in the Christmas tree. Whoever finds the ornament first between my\u00a0 brother and I get an extra Christmas present. We\u2019re usually competitive with it. This is a\u00a0 pretty popular German tradition!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In response to, \u201cDo you celebrate on Christmas Eve or Christmas?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Angel Matias \u201927 said, \u201cI enjoy celebrating on Christmas Eve with my family. We are\u00a0 impatient, so we open presents at night during our Christmas Eve party. It\u2019s nice too\u00a0 because when I would wake up as a kid on Christmas morning, I would be able to play with\u00a0 all my gifts.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In response to, \u201cDo you like to travel over break? Where? Why?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Savannah Painter \u201928 said, \u201cI love to travel over break! My family usually goes to\u00a0 Pennsylvania for the holidays. We go up there to see my dad\u2019s side of the family and spend\u00a0 some time with them! We love baking some warm cookies and decorating the Christmas\u00a0 tree.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In response to, \u201cWhat is your favorite Christmas color scheme?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zachary Bayers \u201827 said, \u201cTypically, I like the cliche green, red, and white for clothing. These\u00a0 colors really remind me of the Christmas spirit.
