\nstudents to take advantage of that fact by exploring the wonderful businesses available to us!<\/p>\n
This week we\u2019ll be hearing from Charlotte\u2019s Web Antique Mall.
\nAntiquing has been a hobby steadily on the rise for a long time now, and the younger generation has been a big part of bringing it back. Charlotte\u2019s Web has a collection of antiques
\nthat students are constantly finding new treasures in! To tell us more about this shop, Lisa, the cashier, spoke to me this week.<\/p>\n
Q: How did you get started in this business?
\nA: My journey into the world of antiques began with a simple passion for buying and
\nselling. It all started with me selling items in my sister\u2019s booth at Charlotte\u2019s Web Antique Mall
\nbefore my sister and I began sharing a booth. Eventually, I moved on to managing my own
\nbooth. I started working part-time for fun, but it became a full-time commitment after I retired,
\nand I took on the responsibility of running the cash register.
\nQ: Do you get to interact with students often?
\nA: I enjoy interacting with a variety of customers, especially the college students who
\nfrequently shop with us.
\nQ: How does being close to campus affect your business?
\nA: Being located so close to the campus in Salem has been a big advantage for our
\nbusiness, as the students shop regularly and often bring their friends. The steady flow of college
\ncustomers keeps things lively, and it\u2019s always great to see familiar faces.
\nQ: What is your process for finding and receiving antiques?
\nA: For sourcing items, I love the hunt. I frequently visit estate sales and tag sales, and I
\nalso buy, sell, and trade with friends. It\u2019s always exciting to find something unique to add to the
\nbooth, and I take pride in curating a collection that reflects a variety of tastes and interests.<\/p>\n
