In my unique capacity as both the editor-in-chief of the
\nBrackety-Ack and an Outdoor Adventures specialist, I get
\nthe pleasure of writing a full article for this first publication
\nhighlighting some of the trips running this semester.
\nComing up in September we have the Whitewater
\nKayaking trip (Sep 14), a day hike to The Great Channels
\n(Sep 15), Backpacking (Sep 21), Flourish Hike (Sep 21)
\nand a Paint Night clinic (Sep 25). Aside from all of those
\nwonderful trips, we are running White Water Rafting, the
\nCatawba Challenge, Caving, and an exciting fall break trip.<\/p>\n
Both of the white water trips are crazy fun, and you pay
\nless for them than you would if you wanted to do them
\non your own. You also get to know you\u2019re safe with our
\nguides and of course transportation and food are covered
\nwith the cost of the trip. The fall break trip will consist of
\na tour of Virginia\u2019s beloved parks. Participants will explore
\nparks across the state, participating in various outdoors
\nactivities, along with two of our Outdoor Adventure
\nguides. Shenandoah National park and Natural Bridge will
\nbe features of this trip.<\/p>\n
If I could recommend doing anything as a student here,
\nit would be to do at least one Outdoor Adventures trip. We
\nlive in such a wonderful part of the country for outdoor
\nrecreation and I think we should take full advantage of
\nit. I personally am very fond of our climbing trips (many
\nof which I lead) and the Catawba Challenge (which I
\nalso lead). Both of these allow us to really explore the
\nregion and the amazing outdoor recreation it has to offer.
\nThey also both provide multiple opportunities for a fun
\nphotoshoot. I hope to see some of y\u2019all on our trips this
