Now, this show has been out already for a solid while– why is a review just now being done for it? Well, first and foremost like many other Maroons, classes tend to get overwhelming and time to relax is found far and few between. Plus, money for many students can be tight so subscriptions have to be sacrificed in the name of groceries.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you were literate from anytime between 2005-2014 then you probably were aware of the craze that Rick Riordan\u2019s novel series \u201cPercy Jackson and the Olympians\u201d and subsequent series sequel \u201cThe Heroes of Olympus\u201d had on our generation. It had a total of 10 books– 5 each series plus 2 relative new additions to the \u201cPercy Jackson and the Olympians\u201d series –and 2 films that\u2026relatively go unspoken of within the fandom due to the many differences between source material and actual film.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, in December 2023, Disney+ had released the long awaited and highly anticipated television series; \u201cPercy Jackson and the Olympians\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not only did it stay true to the majority of what Riordan had written, but as he had worked closely with the producers (also being a producer himself) and directors, any changes done had been given the green flag by Riordan himself. At first, many had been iffy about the series adaptation and if it would be any good– what if the changes were too great like the films, or what if it simply wasn\u2019t what fans had been hoping for?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However performances done by Walker Scobell (playing Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase) and Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood) shook the metaphorical stage as both on-screen and off-screen, these actors embodied the relationships and personalities of each character so well that many fans fondly said that \u201cRick must’ve shaken his books and they just fell out\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Honestly, and in my own opinion, I have never seen a more accurate adaptation of a book series into a television series. Sure some aspects from the books have been toned down or slightly altered, but I genuinely enjoyed it. Especially as someone who had been hooked on Riordan\u2019s series since the first ever book.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However you don\u2019t have to have read the series in order to enjoy it. I have known people who had no care about the books thoroughly enjoy the series. If you haven\u2019t seen it yet, I highly recommend it. Even if you have already seen it, then you\u2019ll be pleased that season 2 has already been secured by Disney+, although not much else is known about a possible release date.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
