As a junior (who\u2019s technically a sophomore), I have some experience with finals. I think midterms and finals feel the same except finals are far more nerve-racking. Not only are exams happening, but there are final papers, essays, presentations, and of course sports and other extracurriculars getting in their last events of the semester. It’s a period of time where everything moves really fast, but it feels like you\u2019re just barely getting through. So I am here to say, you\u2019ve got this. Finals are not going to break you, they are probably not going to drop your grade (and if you think positively maybe they will raise it). It\u2019s not the end of the world, it’s just a test. Approaching finals like this seems a little daunting because it might seemingly leave you unprepared, but I don\u2019t think this is an accurate assumption. If I approach finals like I do every test, I study, I prepare, and then I let my mind relax and do the work. I don\u2019t get hyper stressed-out because I know it\u2019s not determinative of my worth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know I\u2019m a good student, but that’s certainly not all I am. I am a friend, a follower, a daughter, a sister, a girlfriend, and so much more. One test grade doesn’t even scratch the surface of the human being I am. This statement is true for each and every one of us. Finals are important, and I think people should take them seriously, but at the end of the day it’s just another exam in a sea of exams. I\u2019ve taken 12 finals during my time here, stressed about each one, and have done perfectly fine on every single one of them. I promise your professors don\u2019t want you to fail (I hope).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All of this is to say that this is a stressful time, so please take it easy. Get outside (with winter gear obviously), study hard but not too hard, and remember to eat and drink. I believe in us, good luck!<\/span><\/p>\n
