Barbie has already made waves since her original release in 1959 but as of this past July 21st, her own film has made just as much of a splash to the movie industry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Directed by Greta Gerwig (2019\u2019s \u201cLittle Women\u201d, 2017\u2019s \u201cLady Bird\u201d, 2018\u2019s \u201cIsle of Dogs\u201d) and starring prominent names such as Australian Actress Margot Robbie (2017\u2019s \u201cI, Tonya\u201d, 2013 \u201cAbout Time\u201d, and her most infamous role in 2020\u2019s \u201cHarley Quinn: Birds of Prey\u201d), Ryan Gosling (2016\u2019s \u201cLa La Land\u201d, 2022\u2019s \u201cThe Gray Man\u201d, and 2004\u2019s \u201cThe Notebook\u201d) and even Simu Liu (2014\u2019s \u201cAkira Project\u201d, and 2021\u2019s \u201cShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings\u201d).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a 3.0 out of 5 stars on Google, an 88% on the Tomatometer and 83% audience score both from Rotten Tomatoes, 7.3\/10 on IMDb, it\u2019s impressive to see the continued growth and audience approval.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus with the genius way the film was advertised, \u201cBarbie\u201d holds a comedic tone while also nodding to plenty of real world issues that many had been phased with such as; unrealistic body proportions, existential identity crisis, and learning how to comfortably be yourself without giving anything up\u2013 all wrapped up in a hilarious and pink package. Honestly, it was no wonder the film made such an impact on the audience as we watch Barbie, herself (Margot Robbie), learn about the world she lives in and the world she\u2019s made such an impact on. Plus with a nod to Ken\u2019s (Ryan Gosling) entire existence being based around Barbie in the form of an interesting power ballad, the film engages everyone in the family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the general love \u201cBarbie\u201d has garnered, there have been a few naysayers who state that the film is severely \u201canti-man\u201d and \u201cpushes the feminist agenda\u201d. However, the film doesn\u2019t exactly equate to said agenda or anything anti-man.
