Long time horror fans can always find a way to bond with one another\u2013 especially in the case of slasher films. Among the ageless classics like \u201cNightmare on Elm Street\u201d or \u201cFriday the 13th\u201d, there are many that have stood the trials of time and remained strong even with what we now consider cheesy effects. However on the other side there have been old names turned into new remakes such as 2021\u2019s \u201cHalloween Kills\u201d, 2019 \u201cChild\u2019s Play\u201d, and even 2019\u2019s \u201cBlack Christmas\u201d– all remodeled and reshaped to fit the modern horror narrative.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Unfortunately these remakes don\u2019t always measure up to the originals and there are no bigger critics than those of horror films.<\/span><\/p>\n As of March 10th, 2023, \u201cScream VI\u201d has officially been released to theaters following after the 2022 release of its predecessor \u201cScream V\u201d which held a 6.3 out of 10 stars and only 67% of google audience members actually enjoying the film despite its positive critic acclaim. As opposed to the ratings given to \u201cScream V\u201d, the newly released \u201cScream VI\u201d has already received a 7.3 stars out of 10 on IMDb and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 76%, a metacritic score of 61% with 89% of google audience members enjoying the film! These scores speak for itself, truly, but the film is able to stand on its own while respecting the legacy of the original stories of Ghostface.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (\u201cV\/H\/S\u201d, \u201cV\/H\/S\/94\u201d, \u201cReady or Not\u201d), \u201cScream VI\u201d has many notable faces as members of its bloodstained cast. From Jenna Ortega (\u201cThe Fallout\u201d, \u201cStuck in the Middle\u201d, and the ever famous \u201cWednesday\u201d), and Melissa Barrera (\u201cIn the Heights\u201d, \u201cSiempre tuya Acapulco\u201d, and \u201cClub de Cuervos\u201d) to the impressive \u201cScream\u201d veteran Courteney Cox (\u201cScream 2-5\u201d, and \u201cFriends\u201d) and even Jack Champion (\u201cAvatar: the Way of Water\u201d, \u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d). This film is bursting with talent that makes audience members pay attention and feel engrossed in the fear that plays out on screen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As of March 13th, the film\u2019s box office had reached up to $70.7 million and continues to grow as more and more viewers swarm the theaters to see the newest release of the \u201cScream\u201d franchise.
