There\u2019s always a specific night that gains viewership not quite like any other\u2013 an annual program that has everyone cheering their favorite celebrities to see who gains the awards they have worked so hard for, and this year is no different. With a viewership of about 5.92 million according to \u201cTV Insider\u201d on September 12, 2022, the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards\u2013 hosted this year by Kenan Thompson \u2013was a night full of excitement despite the all-time-low rating status with both NBC and Peacock streaming the ceremony.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Jam packed with numerous titles many readers may recognize, the 3hr program had no qualms with dishing out awards to those that earned it with the vote of confidence from the people themselves. Winning the title of \u201cOutstanding Comedy Series\u201d was \u201cTed Lasso” from Apple TV+ produced by Jason Sudeikis, with \u201cSuccession\u201d from HBO winning the mantle of \u201cOutstanding Drama Series”. Another program from HBO winning a hard earned award with stiff competition comes from \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d that ended up on top of \u201cOutstanding Limited or Anthology Series\u201d on the 74th Emmy Awards. As the victor for \u201cOutstanding Competition Program\u201d comes from star singer Lizzo\u2019s recent show \u201cLizzo\u2019s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls\u201d on Prime Video.<\/span><\/p>\n Now comes the fun part everyone ends up waiting for\u2013 the winning actors. In categories like \u201cOutstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series\u201d it should be no surprise to see \u201cEuphoria\u201d\u2019s very own Zendaya, who wins the award with her performance as Rue Benett on the HBO fan favorite. With Jason Sudeikis\u2013 a name we see produce the very show \u201cTed Lasso\u201d as well as play the character himself \u2013taking on the champion name as \u201cOutstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series\u201d, his counterpart for the actress title being the talented Jean Smart from \u201cHacks\u201d . As \u201cOutstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series\u201d it should be no shocker that the only one to stand beside Zendaya in this category is \u201cSquid Game\u201dw phenomenal actor Lee Jung-jae who played main character Seong Gi-hun in the program.
