February is upon us, meaning stupid Cupid\u2019s quiver is full of arrows of love ready to pierce the hearts of mere mortals. What better way to celebrate Cupid\u2019s love parade than to listen to a playlist full of background music appropriate for all your Valentine\u2019s Day scenarios.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. For all the long-term romantic relationships, I suggest spending Valentine\u2019s Day gazing into each other’s eyes to \u201cRight Down the Line\u201d by Gerry Rafferty. This song has beautiful lyrics telling the story of a love affair that meets all the criteria to make a consummate love as told by the triangular theory of love. Put on this song and I guarantee you and your valentine won\u2019t need Cupid this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. For all my sad girls and boys I recommend \u201cNothing New (feat. Phoebe Bridgers)\u201d by Taylor Swift. If you want to spend your Valentine\u2019s Day wallowing in the realization that one day, we will all become old news and undesirable, I support it! To make it a more enjoyable experience, listen to Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift reveal their feelings coming to this conclusion themselves.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Now for the unrequited love trope. Plenty of songs fit into this category, but I suggest \u201cWhere the Skies are Blue\u201d by the Lumineers. The folksy retelling of unrequited love is beautiful, and you can tell how much he cares and believes in his love. It’s heartbreaking but somehow uplifting.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. This one is for the girlies on Galentine\u2019s Day. \u201cno body, no crime (feat. HAIM)\u201d by Taylor Swift is the perfect background music to whatever you get up to on your night out with your gal pals. Maybe you\u2019ll even finish listening feeling inspired to get up to something fun concerning your best friend\u2019s cheating husband with her sisters.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. For anyone planning to say \u201cI love you\u201d this Valentine\u2019s Day, I suggest using the song \u201cI Will\u201d by the Beatles. It\u2019s a sweet tune that says over and over, \u201cI love you\u201d. If the person you\u2019re saying \u201cI love you\u201d to doesn\u2019t get it, that is unfortunate.
