As graduation is rapidly approaching, a few of our coaches wanted to wish their graduating seniors one final goodbye. Here are some messages for the Class of 2021!<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Basketball, Coach Clay Nunley: \u201c<\/span>Max has been an impactful teammate and important member of our basketball program for the past four seasons.\u00a0 He is someone who is not only fun to be around, but who cares wholeheartedly for each one of his team members and takes immense pride in being a part of our basketball program and the responsibility that comes with it.\u00a0 His energy and infectious personality will be missed next year!\u00a0 Thanks for all you\u2019ve done for all of us, Max!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Basketball, Coach Carla Flaherty: \u201cTo Megan, Tina, Kayla, and Jayla \u2013 Thank you for a tremendous four years.\u00a0 Beyond being instrumental and transformational for the women\u2019s basketball program you are all wonderful, funny, and bright young women.\u00a0 THANK YOU for an amazing four years \u2013 you have set a standard for our program with your work ethic, love for your teammates, and desire to win.\u00a0 I know you will have tremendous success in your next endeavors and I can\u2019t wait to see where your paths take you\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Field Hockey, Coach Briana Banks: \u201cIt is with complete happiness and sadness for my seniors to have their hockey and academic careers come to an end at Roanoke College.\u00a0 It was such a great pleasure to have had the opportunity to coach them over the past four years!\u00a0 Their growth and development as players and as mature, young women is extremely remarkable!\u00a0 I am beyond proud of every single one of them and their accomplishments at RC!\u00a0 I look forward to seeing what the future will bring to each of them!\u00a0 Thank you Ladies, RCFH family loves you!!!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Golf, Coach Richard Waggoner: \u201cThank you guys for all your work and leadership as we look to continue to grow the golf program. I am very thankful for all you did and wish you the best in your future endeavors. Even though you are leaving to embark on your professional careers, I hope that you will always have a special place in your hearts and lives for Roanoke College and our golf team. Best of luck and Go Maroons!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Soccer, Coach Phil Benne: \u201cThis group of seniors displayed great leadership and commitment to the program.\u00a0 They were instrumental in our success resulting in an overall 4 year record of 38-22-8 and ODAC record of 25-9-4. They will all go on to do great things after their Roanoke College years\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Track & Field, Coach Eugene Galloway: <\/span>\u201cThank you for your dedication and perseverance in making it to the finish line through these crazy four years.\u00a0 As always, finish what you start and never give up!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Lacrosse, Coach Bill Pilat: \u201cThank you to the seniors of the men’s lacrosse team for the past four years.\u00a0 We had many great wins and some tough defeats but through it all you stayed “together” even through the past two years dealing with the pandemic.\u00a0 You provided great leadership to the younger teammates and to your peers.\u00a0 The program is in great hands through the work you have done to demand effort, enthusiasm and excellence.\u00a0 Your mark on the men’s lacrosse program is meaningful and will pave the way for years of lacrosse excellence at Roanoke College\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
