When the trailer for Bridgerton first dropped, I wasn\u2019t sure how to feel. As a historical drama junkie, I take my empire waist dresses and pianofortes pretty seriously. Would this just be a steamy Downton Abbey wannabe set in the regency era? No. It is a beautiful and magical cinematic masterpiece. Bridgerton is unlike most historical dramas because it isn\u2019t exactly focused on accuracy. I consider it more historical fantasy. Whatever you want to call it, Bridgerton has captured the minds and enchanted the souls of over 82 million households.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With only eight episodes, fans are left craving more screen time with Daphne and the Duke. Even though the show has already been picked up for a second season, it will likely be a while until it premieres due to COVID-19. In the meantime, here are five ways to incorporate more Bridgerton into your life.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Dress to Impress the Queen.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u00a0If you are obsessed with the gorgeous gowns worn by Daphne, let me introduce you to regencycore. This aesthetic takes popular trends from the regency era and modernizes them for a wearable 2021 look. You can find short, puff sleeved dresses at a variety of stores including Target and Urban Outfitters.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0 \u00a0 2. Throw a socially distanced tea party<\/span><\/p>\n

    We\u2019re not able to throw elaborate balls right now, so a tea party will have to do. Pick up some floral teacups at a thrift store or online to really get that vintage vibe. You can\u2019t go wrong with a cup of earl grey and homemade scones, but you can also get them to go at Mill Mountain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Bridgerton originated from the mind of Julia Quinn in her book The Duke and I. She has eight more books in the series, each focusing on a different Bridgerton sibling.     One aspect that gave the show its modern twist was the use of instrumental covers of popular songs. We have the Vitamin String Quartet to thank for the soundtrack. Not only do they have a Bridgerton playlist on Spotify, but they have covers from a large variety of bands and genres.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Join the legion of fans on the app Tiktok who post funny memes, interesting facts, and more about the show. One Bridgerton fan under the username @abigailbarlowww has been writing a Bridgerton inspired musical that has even caught the attention of the cast.
