You know the drill. However, physical health is not the only resolution to be considered. We can also work towards improving our mental health. Here are some changes that you can make to improve mental well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Look after yourself physically<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to feel better mentally, it is important to consider physical health, as they are linked. <\/span><b>Exercise regularly.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Even if it is just a short walk, this engagement will likely make you feel good. <\/span><b>Eat healthy.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Although easier said than done, you can help to alleviate some of your negative feelings just by eating well. <\/span><b>Get plenty of sleep.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It can be hard to incorporate this into our lives, especially as college students, but the feeling of being well rested can greatly impact alertness, overall mood and daily performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Discover a new hobby<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s always a good idea to get yourself \u201cout there,\u201d so why not start now. <\/span><b>Is there something that you\u2019ve always wanted to try? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You could join a club or organization, a sports team or simply find new activities to engage in.\u00a0 By building mastery in something, a sense of pleasure and confidence are promoted, boosting mental health and wellness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Practice self-care<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just taking a small amount of time for yourself can greatly benefit your psychological health. <\/span><b>Plan time. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recharge by doing small things that you enjoy. This could even be used as something to look forward to. <\/span><b>Figure out what makes you happy. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Try to include some of these things in your daily life or whenever you\u2019re feeling low. <\/span><b>Don\u2019t be so hard on yourself. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work on reframing your negative thoughts into positive ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Consider taking a break\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At times, we could all use a break from social media and the heavy influence of others. <\/span><b>Disconnect. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Constantly looking at what people are doing and making comparisons is extremely detrimental to the way that we feel about ourselves. You might find that you could be a lot happier without constant insight into the lives of other people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Reach out<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you feel that you are struggling, know that it is okay to <\/span><b>ask someone for help<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Specialist support is readily available, no matter what the circumstances are.
