I always try to watch this movie at least once a year because Elle’s transformation in the movie is just so iconic and badass. I might be a little biased because part of it was filmed in Massachusetts, but this movie with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds is so funny and heartwarming. This is definitely the kind of movie you want to watch if you’re looking for an unconventional and tropey couple. Margaret Tate (Bullock) basically persuades her assistant, Andrew Paxton (Reynolds), into marrying her so she can stay a citizen of the United States — and keep her position as a boss in a big corporate company.

A Cinderella Story

A Cinderella Story is THE movie to see with your galentines. It’s a story about Sam (Hillary Duff) who grows up with a wicked stepmother and two stepsisters. It’s set in the early 2000s in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, and Sam’s biggest dream is to get into Princeton because of a story her dad used to tell her (about how all princes go to Princeton) before he passed away in an earthquake accident. Sam starts a pen pal relationship with another prospective student who also wants to get into Princeton. June Havens (Cameron Diaz) meets a “rogue” operative, Roy Miller (Tom Cruise), on her plane back to Boston. Chaos ensues, and she finds herself a part of the covert mess Roy created with his colleagues and enemies alike. June realizes their worlds might be too different for anything to happen between the two of them, but the movie ends with a twist that ultimately leaves her satisfied.

Written by Caisi Calandra If you’re single and hanging out with your gals this Valentine’s Day, these movies will put you and everyone else in the best of moods.
