But according to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Candy Industry<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the rest of the nation tends to disagree. On Sept. 25, 2019, one of their writers, Crystal Lindell, published an article detailing the nation\u2019s favorite candies by state. The search was conducted by compiling people\u2019s search results on the Internet in the months of Sept. 2018 and Oct. 2018 &#8212; and by surveying 2,004 people from across the country. Not the best way to survey, in my opinion, but, alas, it shows how people\u2019s views on Halloween are changing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Sept. 18, 2019, the website <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bid-on-Equipment<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reported that Virginia\u2019s most popular Halloween candy is M&amp;M\u2019s, and Washington D.C.\u2019s is Reese\u2019s Peanut Butter Cups. Surprisingly, Colorado\u2019s favorite candy is Nerds, and it\u2019s the only state to have that candy as their number one. Joining Colorado for being so unique is Louisiana &#8212; for its love of Airheads. And the most exciting thing happening in North Dakota, Nebraska, and Oklahoma is their weird obsession with Hot Tamales. (This just begs the question, why stan spicy candy when you could just have something sweet?) Florida likes its M&amp;M\u2019s, which is a little disappointing, considering its one of the more chaotic states.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only states doing it right, for stanning Kit-Kats, are California and (shudder) Connecticut &#8212; two extremely polar opposite states. And it\u2019s definitely possible California\u2019s interest in Kit-Kats may or may not have been influenced by Kourtney Kardashian\u2019s viral video \u201c6 Steps to Eating a Kit Kat.\u201d But Kit-Kats slap &#8212; they\u2019re chocolate-y, full of crisp wafers, and they provide a satisfying snap, depending on how you eat them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some would say the best way is to just bite into it, across the perfectly snappable rows of chocolate-covered wafers, and some (those in the wrong) would disagree. All sarcasm aside, both ways of eating Kit-Kats are valid &#8212; they\u2019re just based on entirely different moods.
