This year, our students will be getting together for Halloween to celebrate, but no Halloween party is complete without some fun and spooky snacks! Here are a few of my favorite healthy and sweet Halloween treats:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Roasted Pumpkin Seeds<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roasted pumpkin seeds are a favorite snack of mine this time of year. After carving a pumpkin, I collect the seeds in a bowl and clean them. This is my favorite recipe to use, from <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.allrecipes.com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this recipe, here are the ingredients you will need:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1-2 cups of raw pumpkin seeds<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Directions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preheat oven to 300\u00b0 F.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mix seeds in a bowl with salt and butter until they are evenly coated.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spread seeds evenly onto a baking sheet and bake\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Peanut Butter Apple Lanterns<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peanut butter with apples is a great and healthy combination. Turning something healthy into a cute snack could be perfect for any guest list. This is a vegan Halloween recipe that I love from<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.veganyackattack.com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this recipe, here are the ingredients you will need:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8-10 apples<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup of raisins<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup of creamy peanut butter<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons of maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon of cinnamon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Directions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cut the top \u00bc of the apples off and scoop out the inside, like you would a pumpkin. Make sure there are no holes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a small knife to make jack-o-lantern faces on the surface of the apples, only cutting through the skin.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mix the raisins, peanut butter, maple syrup, and cinnamon together and divide evenly between the apples. After filling, add the tops back to each apple.<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Caramel Apples<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My all-time favorite treat is the caramel apple! Halloween is the best time to make them too! Here is my preferred easy caramel apple recipe from<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.allrecipes.com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this recipe, here are the ingredients you will need:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 apples<\/span><\/li>\n<li>1 (14 oz.) package of individually wrapped caramels<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons of milk<\/li>\n<li>Craft sticks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Directions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remove the stem from each apple and push a craft stick into the top of each.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place milk and caramel into a bowl and microwave for 2 minutes, stirring once. Allow to cool for a moment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take each apple and roll it in the caramel until it is coated. The apples can be placed on a buttered or non-stick backing sheet for the caramel to set.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To make the apples look more festive, feel free to add ribbons to the craft sticks for decoration. Cupcake paper can also be used to place the apples inside.
