With all the modern streaming services today, it\u2019s easy to get hooked on one show. A local junior struggled with inner conflict when his binge-watching time ran over into his 5 o\u2019clock class. \u201cIt all happened so quickly,\u201d he told Brackety-Ack. \u201cOne minute you\u2019re sitting there, breathlessly watching Handmaid\u2019s Tale, and the next minute your phone is blowing up because you\u2019re twenty minutes late to your class.\u201d Reports indicate that a few of his classmates realized he was missing. One classmate realized he was missing and risked a chance to text him: \u201cwhere are u?\u201d After a minute or two went by with no response, the classmate sent another text saying: \u201cseriously dude where are u?\u201d Upon the third text the classmate simply sent a sad-face emoji.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI remember getting a few texts,\u201d the skipper recalled. \u201cThat sad face emoji told me all I needed to know . . . All hope was gone.\u201d The junior reassured himself with that he could miss one or two classes thanks to the lenient attendance policy. \u201cWhat are the odds I get sick?\u201d He laughed. \u201cI have a strong immune system anyways.\u201d The junior checked his phone shortly after and frowned. \u201cTurns out that day was also a quiz day.\u201d He paused. \u201c. . . And you can\u2019t make those up.\u201d The junior is aware that this type of situation is too real for a lot of college students. That\u2019s why he\u2019s started his own seminar, titled \u201cThe Key to Academic Happiness: How to Properly Miss Classes and Determine Quiz Days,\u201d to help students overcome their need to binge-watch constantly. \u201cMy hope is that others will learn from my mistakes and learn to utilize these skills to prevent missing quiz days from interrupting your binge-watching.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
