Dance schools from everywhere along the East Coast were present, setting high stakes and an aggressive journey to the top. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After two long semesters of training, RCDT felt confident in their performance and ability, which was certainly evident to the judges. <\/span><b>The dance team placed first in their division and received highest overall score.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cNot only was it a time to grow, but it also offered a chance to highlight our hard work and skill as a team,\u201d said senior captain Kimberlie Willard. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Before and after the competition, RCDT and other contestants participated in a seven-hour convention of instructional dance classes ranging in category, taught by renowned professional dancers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Former \u2018So You Think You Can Dance\u2019 competitor Caitlin Kinney taught ballet\/lyrical and Joey Pizzi, choreographer of Mary Poppins Returns, Chicago, Hairspray and Burlesque, taught musical theatre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cLearning from all of the professional choreographers with my team is a memory I will always treasure.
