This, however, did not stop the ladies from working hard. \u201cWe had a run on Saturday morning at the indoor track, and Monday we were able to practice on the turf,\u201d said freshman Emma Woods said. The ladies are excited to be back in action on Sunday, September 23 at Virginia Wesleyan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Men\u2019s Soccer:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The Maroons came out ready to play Wednesday night against Southern Virginia after a week off from games. The team used that built up energy to break a Roanoke College record for the most goals scored in one game. With 12 goals scored, the team was unstoppable. Wish the team luck as they travel to Randolph on Saturday, September 22.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Field Hockey:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Our field hockey team had an outstanding win against Denison last Saturday and like many of the other RC sports teams, have had to postpone their games. The women did not let the rain stop them, as they have still been practicing to ensure their win streak continues. Come out and support the team this Saturday, September 22 at 1:00 p.m. as they take on Frostburg State.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Volleyball:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The volleyball team was in action on Tuesday night at Emory and Henry where the women secured another 3-0 victory increasing their overall record to 7-4 and in the conference 1-1. The ladies have a busy week ahead of them and will be in action at home on Wednesday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. against Guilford. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Men\u2019s Golf: <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The men\u2019s golf team had their first match on September 10 where they placed 12th, and have since been busy practicing- even through the rain. \u201cWe practiced inside over the weekend, to get geared up for the tournament next week,\u201d said senior Staley Cavey. The Tom Kinder Tournament will be held at Lakeview in Harrisonburg, Va. on Monday, September 24- Tuesday, September 25.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Cross Country:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Our cross country teams beat the rain last Friday, September 14 as they headed to Virginia Tech for the Alumni Invite. The Lady Maroons placed the while the men places 6th, and both teams placed 2nd of the Division III schools.
