Representing members Ally, Dinah, Lauren and Normani, the blanket social media post stated: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIn order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors.\u201d \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Though some fans, including popular artist and musician Sam Smith, expressed online dismay, overall reception of this announcement was not unexpected in light of 5H\u2019s fifth member Camila Cabello\u2019s exit from the group in December 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the past year, Fifth Harmony members had already begun to dip into solo music ventures. Lauren Jauregui appeared on Halsey\u2019s latest album on the ballad \u201cStrangers\u201d and appeared solo on different occasions to perform with the pop star as a duet. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Similarly, Normani Kordei recently teamed up with up-and-comer Khalid on the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Love, Simon <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">soundtrack, now gaining popularity rapidly on global streaming charts.
