When you put a bunch of 20-something year olds together on a small campus, you\u2019re going to have some tension. Sexual tension.<\/p>\n
This campus reeks of it.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s no point in pretending that the majority of RC\u2019s student body isn\u2019t sexually active, but it seems that out of this cloud of hookup culture has emerged a couple of unspoken rules.<\/p>\n
One of them being, \u201cdon\u2019t hook up with your neighbors.\u201d<\/p>\n
Some might see this as a no brainer. Some might question as to why hooking up with a neighbor is a bad thing! After all, it is convenient, isn\u2019t it? It limits the need for an embarrassing walk of shame!<\/p>\n
We\u2019re all adults, right? We can handle it!<\/p>\n
But can we? The people on this campus are legal adults, but sometimes we act like children emotionally.<\/p>\n
If you don\u2019t believe me, just look to our collective obsession with Tinder and our unfortunate campuswide reliance on Natural Light to forget our massive workload.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hooking up at college is a natural pattern, and there\u2019s no real need to change that, as long as those who are sexually active are safe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n But smart sex is just as important as safe sex.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n RC students have enough to worry about without concerning themselves with awkward run-ins and avoiding a neighbor who will inevitably pop up wherever you go.<\/p>\n If you must schtup a hallmate, make sure you can both act and communicate like adults afterward to alleviate any post-coital awkwardness.
